It’s going with a better ping list!
Improve Your WordPress Ping List
In your settings, go to: Settings > Writing and then scroll down where it says Update Services.
If it looks like this, then it’s time to amp that up:
Instead of just one entry there, you can add a lot more.
What this does is what it says… it notifies “ping” services when you publish a post. So why just notify one when there are a lot more out there? When you add more, you’ll get more spiders coming to your website to check out your great, new content.
Open up the file I use, which has 185 entries in it: update-services-ping-list.txt
(or you can copy it below)
Copy what is in that file and then paste it in and click “Save Changes” at the bottom. My list does include the “rpc.pingomatic.com” URL, so you can safely remove that default entry and paste in my list.
And… that’s it. Start writing more content!
