Should You Worry About a Low AIOSEO Score?
TL;DR Summary: AIOSEO scores are helpful guidelines, not a definitive measure of search performance. Focus on writing useful, easy-to-read content for people, answering common questions, and publishing consistently. Don’t panic over changing scores—SEO takes time.
AIOSEO’s TruSEO score is useful, but it’s still just one tool’s opinion. A lower score doesn’t necessarily mean your page or your search rankings suddenly got worse.
The tool analyzes things like keyword usage, meta descriptions, image alt text, readability, spelling, and headline structure. Those are worth reviewing, but you shouldn’t live and die by the score.
My approach to writing for SEO is simple:
- Write for humans, not search engines.
- Avoid fluff and filler.
- Make content easy to scan with headings, bold text, and lists.
- Include helpful FAQs.
- Keep publishing useful content.
FAQ pages are especially valuable. Create a main FAQ page that links to individual pages for each question. Use the question as the page title, then answer it clearly—often in fewer than 200 words.
This structure once helped pages earn featured snippets. Today, it also makes content easy for people, search engines, and AI systems to understand.
If you publish 20 useful pages, perhaps two or three will gain traction. When they do, expand and improve them.
The three rules of SEO remain the same:
- Don’t panic.
- Give it time.
- Keep adding useful content.
That’s it. Now, go put some awesome content on your website.
